Listening to the news yesterday, I just heard a commentary about artistic people in Hollywood:
"They are detached from reality and are juvenile. They create their own world."

Free. 17"x14" on pen and ink on Paris paper.
I am having an absolutely fun and very pleasant time drawing these little characters which I adapted from Bella Sinclair's style after I saw her illustration which has now become my latest favorite. No wonder Bella always seem so happy and positive and her drawings exude mirth because there is something that evokes the joyful senses when I draw these little darlings. Granted, unlike Bella's illustrations, I toss and plunge these little creatures into and within threatening and unpleasant environments. I mentally infuse each tiny creature with personality and I root for them to survive those who want to harm them like some other little evil creatures that look like them too. Demons walk the earth with us, do you know that? That is why it is always good to have your angels. Such is life, you don't know who Satan pretends to be. I hope Bella forgives me for exposing these little creatures to danger and negative situations, but I am rooting for every little good freedom and liberty loving creature. Some details below.
Okay, my Apple Macbook randomly shuts down. Looks like the battery, which was replaced by a new one last year. Oh, one more thing before I go. The Constitution is an awesome document that was written as the foundation for our republic. It is not some malleable document which liberals and progressives can interpret and change according to their whims. It was cleverly designed to thwart tyrants and prevent tyranny. That is why many liberals complain about it, even the current president once mentioned that it gets on his way. Think about that.
Have a great week!

Did you?
Are you feeling the revenge?

Now listening to Doris Day and soon Ella Fitzgerald.
Have you heard of Tuva and their throat singers? I love Huun Hurr Tu.

To be fair, President Obama gets asked the tough questions from the American press. Seriously, give the man a break. He works so hard.

...the government has the constitutional right to implement the tax, "but if it reaches a certain point, perhaps you should revolt."
"You're entitled to criticize the government, and you can use words, you can use symbols, you can use telegraph, you can use Morse code, you can burn a flag..."
"The Constitution is not a living organism for Pete's sake, it's a law. It means what it meant when it was adopted."

Rotten Eggs
The Law of Lawlessness, Corruption, Incompetence and Mediocrity
A government whose leaders flaunt, selectively enforce and exempt themselves from the law, loses its moral authority to expect its citizens to obey the law. Only tyrants are above the law they impose on others.
Take one liberty at a time so people will not notice, in fact, they will start believing it is good for them. Corruption and tyranny provide nothing but a preponderance of broken rotting eggs and stinkhorns disguised as laws for the good of all. Still, it is Easter and those who believe have something better coming for them beyond this wretched world of liars, deceivers and purveyors of hopelessness.
Yes, hope, a word so abused and maligned by demagogues whose plans were soon revealed. Punish the achievers, spread the misery and hopelessness, destroy the structures and weaken society, take one liberty at a time so that their mediocre performance will seem so grand and altruistic.
What a cracked egg, indeed. The stench reeks.
Inner Peace:
"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy." Max Ehrmann, "Desiderata"

LOL! I Am In Love
(LOL) Lord Of The Lies
aka The Fabulous Fabulist, part of the Liars, Fabulists, Prevaricators and The Like series. These are details of a 14"x17" pen and ink drawing. Click on the preview slides to enlarge. I have fallen in love with detailed pen and ink drawing...oh wait, this is not new. Let us just say that I actually took my time and even stopped to draw something else for Illustration Friday, just so I can keep enjoying this. Thanks to Bella Sinclair who inspired me to draw little creatures. When I saw Bella's illustration for Space, I was stunned at how she accurately portrayed two friends, one who needs space but seems to have a difficult time escaping the other gesticulating, loquacious friend. I lifted the two and put them in this busy jungle of the Lord of the Lies.

Happy New Year! 2014 brings us 40,000 new laws. Thank God, what shall we ever do without the all-knowing government! In case you went to bed before midnight last night and just woke up, today is the beginning of a new year. If you are a young boy attending kindergarten in California and think you really are a girl despite having a penis, you may now use the girls' bathroom, if you wish.
How long will it take you to write the year 2014 correctly? Ah 2013, that was some year, wasn't it? The animal kingdom must have been reading the news coming from Washington and visiting the social media posts emanating from the US. Scientists discovered new species and caught sight of species thought to have been extinct, the likeness of which mimicked the liars and prevaricators in Washington. Yes, the relentless Pinocchios coming from the administration and a colluding mainstream media were also marked by the appearances of Pinocchio lizards and frogs and other animals whose proboscis provided perfect metaphors for the laws that we have been given by demagogues who know better than us how to manage our affairs and tell us exactly what is good for us, but they just had to lie in order to convince us.
On a positive note, they also discovered a wise-looking yoda-like bat, still named Yoda bat because they have not yet given it a scientific name. Perhaps, it will be a harbinger of sensible changes following the year of the living dread.
University bans words. Supposedly, an institution of higher learning bans words, among them Selfie, twerking and Obamacare. Nice, the thought police in full force. Obamacare, named after Obama who took a selfie during Nelson Mandela's memorial service. Obamacare. Never ever forget it. How can we? It is here.
Here is a toast to real hope without lies and the pursuit of love, peace and liberty.
