I Mean It To Be Personal

Cadena de Amor - What Matters Most

I know
why I am here
who I love
what I like
what I need to do.
It is different from
what I wish
Those are extra
and fancy too.
In the end it's not how far I have gone
But who is near
when it's time for me to go.
I know who loves me
or at least who I want to love me.
What matters is
I know who I love.

I have come
full circle.
I wanted to go there
hoping to find what I want
Only to discover
I had it all along.
All the words and cheers
were intoxicating.
I started thinking of going there
and there
 and there.
But there is not where
I long for
otherwise I will be happy going there
because there is not here
and here was my there then.
It is where I am happy.
My refuge.
My home.
My love.

I do not long for an audience
to validate what I do.
No certificate to verify what I did.
I know what I do
I do it well
not because someone tells me
but because I set myself to do so.
Frankly I do not know how I got here
I can't remember ever planning
or plotting
but how I got here I remember,
was not always easy.
This I do know
that whatever I do
I do it because I know it is right
for me
and that is fine by me
and even more so if it make the one I love happy.

Maybe it's not what makes for greatness
It's not so self conscious
and not aiming for glory.
I do not think of myself first
but those who I love the most.
It gives me purpose.
An honorable duty.
I am honored to oblige.
I do not want to love everybody
and heaven forbid if everybody does in turn.
No, I want to love a few
And give it all.
It's personal, you know.
Quite simple
and ordinary
that it makes it rather
special.
Yes!
Thank you for being in my life.

AAAAAHHHH! Your work just makes me swoon...your words, your art..all of it touches me greatly. Thank you Ces, for doing what you do for the love that you have for the people in your life. I know that's not well-stated but I mean it..thank you. : ) And here is my response to my post today...

Thank you sweet Ces! I really appreciate your support. When they ask for too much personal info, of course, no need to go any further. I am glad they simply ask for an email address..whew! Anyway, thank so much again for being such a hugely supportive friend in my efforts!!

But of course, dear Ces...only if you want to. I think you've outdone yourself for helping promote my card!!
As for garlic..oh I have such a love/hate relationship with garlic. I used to LOVE it..love, love, love it..and could eat it all the time. Now, my whole system rejects it unfortunately, and I am so very sensitive to it..it really stinks (ha!, literally and figuratively). But it was such a treat to enter that contest while a student in college, and to enjoy it when I could. I hope you get to visit Gilroy someday..the festival is enormous (a bit of a lot of drinking and expensive food too though), but it has some great vendors and is something to experience at least once in your lifetime. : ) Thanks dear Ces...you are lovely, my friend!

I must steal a quote from Renee; "For Shit's sake!" How will I ever get caught up with you!!! ACK! I have been missing too long.

Your words are so beautiful, Ces. I am happy for you, coming full circle.

Your art, words cannot describe. I over-use the word Brilliant. But you are. I love them all. I love you still. **blows kisses** Deb

Ces, your forest art is so inviting. I think I'm approaching my wooden years. I want to get rid of everything I've collected in my life and just live out of a suitcase again. I want that to be the only luggage of life that I possess. We can do that so easily when we're young, but probably impossible now, huh.

Wait... word verify? You turned it back on?? That sucks.

Ces Adorio said...

Ted, sorry. I had to do that last week when I was barraged with Anonymous spam comments. I have changed the settings to accept comments only from registered users. We shall see if that works. You'll be happy to know that the word verify is gone. As for the suitcase, you know I would like that too. True story: I came to America in 1982 with $100, a few change for phone calls, a suitcase. It was not even full. I think it weighed 25 pounds, just a few casual clothes, nursing uniforms, and pajamas. I had work waiting for me though. :) Have a great week!

Thank you very much, Rod.

Well, it's true you know, you could spend so long with each of your works, kinda mandala in a way - but different of course. I hope you are well and working far too h ard on your art :)
But not TOO hard.

hugs from here :)

I mean the viewer can spend an enormous amount of time with your work - it's a voyage of discovery , we see something new every time you look

Ces Adorio said...

Thank you Andrew. I hope you are doing well. I see some new work from you, they are wonderful. Thank you for taking time out from your busy schedule.

My goodness, how I've missed being here. I've missed your words and your images. Your beautiful squiggles that bring depth and story to what was once plain and flat and white. I've missed you. Being here feels like coming home.
