No Fear Of Heights - The Lesser Known Dumptys

Dainty Dumpty. 8"x10" archival ink on 11"x14" Bristol Board

Uppity Dumpty. 8"x10" archival ink on 11"x14" Bristol Board.

Humptoro-D2. Archival ink on 11"x14" Bristol Board

While their cousin Humpty Dumpty was famous, these lesser known Dumptys achieved more by simply not falling apart; although some of them were clearly cracked in their pursuit of heights and widths. I actually drew these first two illustrations especially for IF. Most often I just hope what I am drawing will work for the prompt. I did however, want to draw some Mother Goose Rhymes-inspired characters for a new series. Oh look! They look just like acorns. On the left, Tanoak acorn.

About HEADER:

Picnic in the wood
tear from her eye
If only she could
like birdies--fly!

The DUMPTY FAMILY.

Fried egg on rock,
Hot coffee in cup.
Time Machine face...
TSUP! TSUP! TSUP

Sometimes this a 'fun' place to be...
Thanks Ces!

Fantastic! All just spectacular but I have to give the edge to the one on the bottom with the wonderful contrasts and oh my gosh, I just love those sneakers. No idea why I focused on the sneakers with all those terrific bugs and gadgets and plants, but our minds work in mysterious ways and all that.

Gros bisous

Really impressive ink work... must be very time consuming. Classy illustrations though, nice one!

Great collection of Dumpties--I love, as always, your detailed inkwork, and all the interesting things there are to look at in all parts of each drawing.

Hehehehehe! You are so funny! Hahahahah. Thank you for making me laugh this morning. I m ating orange bread. I thought you'd like to know that.

Ces Adorio said...

Oh Steve, I want to tell you that more are coming. I think a dozen to fit them all in an egg crate! This morning it is Thinky Dumpty or my son. DO you have a particular preference? Oh no. Please, no Biker Dumpty. Hahaha!

Ces Adorio said...

O second thought that sounds like a good idea. It will be great to draw a helmet for him. Imagine that.

Ces Adorio said...

Cindy, I like shoes too, especially lace-up boots, ankle sneakers, really long lace up shoes that make me look like Darth Vader but now I just wear sandals. Heheh. Thank you.

Ces Adorio said...

Aw Thank you and SO ARE YOU!!!!!

Ces Adorio said...

You noticed!!!! Hehehe. The rope won't work anyway. He will just slip through.

Ces Adorio said...

Thank you Barry. I like that. "Classy illustrations." I am therefore drawing one with a top hat.

Biker Dumpty, great idea! Musician Dumpty? (Violin--grin?) or VIOLINIST DUMPTY GRINNING like Florian Zabach! If I had a name like "Florian" I'd'v had it changes when I was age THREE! HAHAHA!

Dumpty on a farm,
DUMPTY no arm
chickens accusing each other
of being Dumpty's mother

(Just had to write a ditty, Ces!
You squiggle, I ditty HAHAHAHAH!)

YUP! I'm having a 'fun' Sunday. Anna away a few days, I'm in charge of animals. (Dog and cat both like violin music--grin!)

For some reason I'm thinking "Eggs" for lunch LOL! Maybe mixed in with tuna, celery, and MAYO--while cat's away, etc.....
BYE!

Girlfriend, you are cracked.

HA!

No, you are a good egg.

I love your trio. And there are more waiting in the wings, are there? These are the lesser KNOWN Dumptys. Certainly not the lesser Dumptys. Dainty Dumpty makes me giggle. She looks very elegant in her tutu and sexy, shapely legs. She's showing quite a lot of cleavage. It's all over the place. And my goodness, the hat on Uppity's head must be so proud of what she just laid! Hahahaha, these are so eggcelent!

Ces, this is the cutest, most clever idea! The lesser known dumptys! Brilliant!!!!!

Oh yes, Ces, Ryan just keeps amazing us more every day. Best thing about the first pic of him and Ehren is that I know that look on his face, and he is uncontrollably giggling in his high-pitched, childhood giggle, all 6' 4" of him! Love, Dainty Dumpty

Brilliant!! Wouldn't you know that the one who fell gets all the attention, when there are all these fascinating Dumpties languishing unsung. That is the way of the popular media I suppose, even in the days of Mother Goose. This series should really be a book!!!

I have enjoyed getting to know these lesser known Dumptys!! Such wonderful detail!! The situation in the top one is just so delightfully unexpected! The middle, I'm really loving the trees, that umbrella, & the rock wall. And the bottom one - WOW! He'd better make sure he doesn't trip over his shoelaces, though! Great stuff!!!!!

Looks to me like Dainty Dumpty has had her own share of adventures - and chooses not to let that define her. A fine example for us all. Can't wait to see the rest of them.
