My Brothers

My Brothers. 8"x10" Archival ink on 11"x14" Bristol Board

Passion Flower photographed by Dr. Ernesto P. Adorio

I have written this before. You know what a good brother does for me? He reminds me never to lose hope in men.  I have two brothers. They remind me that they always have something to offer, that they care and love and are smart and intelligent and a lot of fun, that they will protect me and support me and love me no matter how stoic they are and how they never say how much they love me. I just know that they do. I know they hurt as much as my sisters and I did when we lost our sister. They were there at her bedside when she was ill, constantly, quietly. I sometimes wonder how they felt. I never saw them cry. They just looked in the distance or within. I love my brothers. I love them even though when I was a little girl growing up I mercilessly fought with them under unfair rules. They were not allowed to hit, neither was I but nothing stopped me and I got away with it. It's a good thing they were older because they just had to hold my arm up in the air until a kicked and screamed for them to let me go.

This past weekend, I worked at home for a project implementation. In between work sessions I managed to start a drawing, a tribute to my brothers. I have been looking at my brother Ernesto's photographs of plants and flowers. I hope he likes this and won't complain that I put him and Nonoy Danny in the middle of the garden. My brother Daniel is actually a plant lover and quite a gardener. While I have never seen Ernesto plant anything, he loves to take photographs of plants and flowers and read in the garden. This is my tribute to my brothers.

I broke my brother ukulele once. I don't think I will ever forget that, nor forgive myself. They are both engineers. My brothers never complain about me. They are peaceful men who read a lot. They never criticize me. They only smile at the things I do. Ernesto and I discuss a lot of politics and religion. We argue a lot. I love my brothers. I am so proud of them.

Love Ernesto's Flower-Photo, and of course, above all else, a tribute-drawing of and for your brothers. These are things which make God smile--I'm guessing at that, almost certain. And I'm smiling as I see and read here frequently what the world would be like with more love. The real love, where I put others' needs, desires, and FEELINGS before my own.

"What the World Needs Now...is Love...."
www "What a Wonderful World" because in it are People like Ces and her dishes, family--and friends.

Oh, your drawing is incredible, Ces. But of course you already know I'd say that, right? Because all of your drawings are never less than incredible. I can see the love for your brothers in it.

*sigh* I sure miss my brother now.

This is my Garden of Eden. How utterly beautiful, your flowers and leaves. I spy your passion flower, and it is as wondrous as the photo. I marvel at the sheen and delicate veining in your broad leaves. And your brothers! Surely, two of the finest gentlemen on the face of this earth. What a tender and love filled tribute. Though stoic on the outside, I'm sure they are blooming on the inside at your portrait. TSUP!

**clapping of many hands** You, my Cesalicious, are the Queen of Detail. Yours is not art to be simply viewed; it calls one into the scene, pulls first the eye and then the body follows, delicately exploring, stepping, inch by inch. I finally got your pictures up in my office; the elephant is above my desk. It makes me happy. Some days I want to crawl into that one, jump up on the elephant and run away. **kisskiss** Deb

OH! Such a wonderful, wonderful tribute to your dear brothers, Ces. You are SO blessed with such a loving and wonderful family. Goodness, this is a beautiful illustration...I know they will love this tribute to pieces! To have such strong and tender men in your life is a fabulous gift. I have two brothers who I lean on a lot..they are awesome and I am blessed too. : ) I hope that this terribly stressful time lifts, Ces! Glad the grumpies resonated with you..it's good to kick the dirt a bit and get some anger out though, right?! Big hugs and a smile for you today, Ces! TSUP!
