The Renee Award

Today is an auspicious day!

.
Today is a beautiful day, cool, breezy and light. Today is filled with love and joy. Today is Tuesday. I have a learning session with another analyst. I take out the garbage on Tuesday morning because my son who is supposed to take it out is still asl...SCREECH! Stop! Not that way. This way. Today is a lovely day. I get to wear blue jeans today because I completed my employee satisfaction surv...STOP! STOP! STOP!
.
April 7th, Tuesday. Today is beautiful because I am giving out The Renee Award. Let me paraphrase my dearest friend Bella Sinclair whose April 7th day is fast approaching tomorrow on the other side of the globe:
.
"This award is meaningful to me in three profound ways. Firstly, it was created in honor of
Renee, one human being who has made such a difference in the lives of many just by being. Her honestly, wit, intelligence, and grit are a tremendous source of inspiration. She can elicit raucous laughter and guffaws in her banter, and then turn right around and offer the most heartfelt, gentle words of wisdom and emotional support. She is a spreader of love, simple and true. And her love is infectious."
.
Secondly, this award was created in collaboration with one of my best friends,
Bella Sinclair. She is, in my opinion, brilliant dilletante, special in every way and she makes me very happy. She is an incredible artist, her illustrations ooze with mirth and pure delight. She is steady strength punctuated by fiery passion with a graceful hand. She is laughter, fun, joy, intellectual stimulation, eloquence, a sister. Bella saved the concept of this award with her acorn drawing because otherwise you will be receiving a sterile rendition of an acorn.
.
Thirdly, this is a brand new award, and I have the pleasure and honor of continuing to spread the seed, watching it grow. I hope it finds its way to those who are like Renee: the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…"
.
This is why I love blogging because I meet brilliant, gifted and talented women. So I am happy to give this award to painters, illustrators, gardeners, photographers and word warriors:
.

Pam
Arija
Karin
Tessa
Diana Evans
Carolyn
BT
Manon Doyle
Maria
Baino
.
.

oh and men of course! I also give this award to:

Pieterbie
Sidney

and

my quiet French friend whose photographs of trees and French landscapes and occasional visits leaving me comments in French drives me to near syncopal episodes:

Jean
.
Go plant a Quercus!

You honour me far too much, you know, I'm sure I don't deserve this award. I love the image as well, so, je ne sais pas quoi (I don't know what), but special.
Thanks, Ces, you're a friend and you've made my day.

Ces I come from my blog laughing my head off at you beheading everyone.

And I come here to you honouring everyone.

You are such a beautiful person Ces.

My daughters, sisters, and nieces all have a crush on you.

Love Renee xoxo

Oh. My. Goodness. Graciousmehowutterlywonderfullyperfectly perfect. Gulp. Thank you, Ces, you have absolutely made not only my day, but my week, my month and my year. I'm seriously not kidding. That award is the most special of all the bloggie world awards and that you'd consider me worthy of it is quite beyond my wildest imaginings. Thank you so very very much, I treasure it now.... and always in all ways. Mwah and squish big time, Ces.

Oh, Mwah and squish = kiss and hug - thought I'd better explain just in case you were feeling vaguely alarmed by it!

I have such a hard time fitting through doorways with my inflated ego, thanks to you, my dearest Ces. I need to hire a carpenter to install keyhole shaped doorways in my home. And don't you know, I like to make sure my acorns are sterilized before I keep them indoors. Don't want any uninvited critters.

I agree wholeheartedly with Renee. You are a beautiful person.

xoxo

Tessa you are very welcome and yes, I speak that language!

Manon, you are most welcome.

Oh I was blocked but now I'm found! Released, recoverd and rejoicing. I thought you'd put me in the lockup, left me out all a gangle and a dangle!

Thanks precious. Lovely award. I am thinking of creating one myself as an Easter Gift to all my lovely bloggers too! Actually it is a rather nice award because it's made specially not just paid forward. And of course, I'm in such great company!

Again Ces, it is an honour to receive your distinguishing notice, though my only claim to fame is that I atually do plant acors that to might oaks will grow, just not in my lifetime.
The oak is my totem tree and early in our farming enterprise I set aside a paddock for an oakwood.
Thank you my dear.
Je suis enchante!...sorry, no French typeset.

Wow. Thank you beautiful Ces. What a lovely surprise. I had to look up in my dictionary to remind myself whether surprise had an r in it.Very amusing that one of the definitions of surprise was "to startle thus". So I am very startled thus!!How wonderful... Thank-you.Love Pam xx

Oh Ces, I am so so honoured to receive this most special of awards. So far I have failed utterly to reproduce my awards on my blog but dear Jim is going to have a go for me so I'm sure I'll wear it with pride very soon. You are a lovely lovely person.

Hello Ces! Thank you so much for bestowing the 'Renee' award on me too! To say I am bowled over would be an understatement! I so love the image - such a clever collaboration between you and Bella for our wonderful friend Renee. May the acorn indeed grow and spread far and wide.

I am very honored by your award... thanks a lot ! Like Pieterbie I don't think I deserve it but it makes me happy!

I am a bit late... but it is now Holy Week and during this week so many things are happening in the Philippines.
Century old traditions to document... tomorrow I am going to watch some old fashioned crucifixions! ;-)
So I am more on the road than in front of my PC...

Hi, Ces! I think this award that you and Bella created in honor of your friend Renee is really touching. I am so blessed to have been nominated for it. And I have chosen to share it with other blog and online friends today on my blog. It was a real treat to be able to reflect on all the friendships I have been forming here in Blogland. Thank you for the opportunity to recognize and celebrate those friendships. :-)
