Drawing Water Without Water

I often wonder whether what I do is meaningful and useful. No, I am not asking for reassurance. I just like to ask myself. This Sunday, I wanted to draw water without really drawing water. You know what I mean? Sometimes I draw waves, raindrops, flood, seas, rivers...and there is always some sort of line representing water. Okay with that last statement, I think I just missed my goal for today's drawing. Never mind. The ripple symbolizes water.

I am never satisfied with my finished drawings. There is always something I could have done differently and better. Crap! I drew on the bottom margin.  I want my drawings to look old, as in 1930's or older. I want my drawings to look like the drawings on the books of my childhood. Instead, I started this drawing with a blank sheet and blank idea. Rocks! I love drawing rocks, so this one started with rocks... and the kid looks modern, sigh***

and trees.. I wish I took this seriously. Instead I stare blankly into space, drawing whatever comes along and trying to fit it into the Bristol pad...

Today I got up from bed at four in the morning to start a project implementation.  I worked online. I started this drawing at six in the morning while waiting to cycle the servers. Throughout the day, I took the drawing with me while washing, ironing and folding laundry, cooking dinner and listening to the radio. It is the third quarter of  the Sunday Night Football game between the Texans and the Packers. The Texans are behind. I cannot stand the stress. Pfft! Ooop! The Texans lost. Oh well. I need to fold the laundry.
