A Thank You Giveaway

Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), the strongest typhoon ever recorded. It ravaged the land I first called home, my birthplace, the Philippines. I cannot describe the catastrophic destruction and havoc it has caused. We have seen the heartbreaking images.

I appeal to you to give directly to the American Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan aid.

I am drawing 5 art cards to give to the first five people who pledge or have already donated directly, $50.00, to the American Red Cross for the Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) appeal.

There are over 600 extant oak species all over the world. This is the only one found in the Philippines, Quercus merrilli. Unlike tall oaks, Quercus merrilli is a bush. It is found in the province of Palawan. Its incidence is counted in individual specimen for it is becoming rare or endangered due to habitat loss. The mature acorn of Quercus merrilli measures 2 cm, ovoid, brown, hairless and enclosed half by a stalkless cup. The cupule has 7-8 denticulate rings.

These Art Cards measure 3.5 inches x 2.5 inches, are mounted on double-matted 8"x10" boards. All materials are acid-free, archival and of museum quality. They are unframed. They will be shipped in acid-free, archival protective clear bags. If interested, please send me a personal message stating your pledge or send me an email showing your American Red Cross receipt (please delete any personal credit/debit card information).

Thank you very much.

Update 11/15/2013 9:00PM. All the 5 cards are reserved for 5 generous donors who donated more than $600.00 directly to the American Red Cross, Unicef, Doctors Without Borders, and the Typhhon Haiyan relief campaign through Baylor University, and Memorial Hermann Hospital Systems. Thank you very much. :)

Hi Cecilia .. I absolutely love your work. I donated through the work campaign since I knew they were going to match the donations. The amount was > $50 and something my husband and I agreed upon giving. I would love to get one of your beautiful acorn art cards if I can. Thanks, Lisa :)
