Pachyderm Kiss 2

A baby feeds an elephant with a Ding Dong while the elephant kisses the baby. It is believed in some circles that when a baby is kissed by an elephant, that baby will grow up to be a lovely mental ninja, a great illustrator and the best Best Friend anyone could ever have. Short of elephants in cities, towns and suburbs, a drawing will suffice.

  3. Gee lucky I posted something short while Bella was posting something a long post :)

Ces I clicked for big I wanted to see your texture :) Well apart from being cute this is surreal in a cute way and by cute I don't mean in the traditional sense of "lovable but ugly" but in the proper sense "cute : coming from the latin Cupudus, meaning bald headed intellectual."

Q when you do those textures do you put your paper on a textured surface or do you draw them by carpal tunnel hand?

Not that I ever draw or anything but one day I might want to trace one of your drawings on my monitor :)

Hey I didn't get one speling mistake!

  4. Hahahha! Yes! Yes, of course Andrew. Maybe your parents did not tell you, but that's true. I see some elephants on your blog too!

Bella!!! You noticed! I tried to make it faint but you noticed. This is for you! Tsup!

  5. Oh Andrew! Hahahah! There you are again. Aw. I will send you the full size, if you want. I drew this on Paris paper, very smoooooooth. The other drawing "Baby with paintbrush" is on smooth Bristol board. They are all the same pen movements: squiggles and lines. Thank you!!!

  8. Andrew, I sent them.

Ann, hello! Actually no, my hands are okay. This was on Paris paper which just makes the pen glide.

  9. You know I enjoy your work, each visit is a treat. Only problem, I could spend all night again going through the pages--archives

  11. Thats how I feel when I approach the sketchbook.

My geography is tragically short of elephants. Whats a father to do? I need to get my kids kissed by a pachyderm.

Very cool drawing. After Bella and your illo's containing ding dongs, I feel a chocolate craving coming on.

  15. Really? In my circle, it is believed that a baby would grow up to be a mental ninja when kissed by a turtle. Preferably mutant ones. While being fed Ding Dongs, of course. :)

Love this, Ces. And I do wonder what sort of mice live in those holes...

  20. gudmorning grandewitch.
just want to ask you a little q.
How do you deal with someone that always copies?

    ReplyDelete
  21. gotta run.
    im hungry.
    byebye.

    love you.

  22. Beautiful One: Is someone copying you? Hmn. Your work is fantastic and worth emulating but real artists will create their own even if your influence is strong. Only "fake artists" will copy, "pretend artists" and "artistes". Unless they are younger than 18, anyone who copies is a dishonest person. So who is copying you? Perhaps you should subtly say, "Wow! Your work is fantastic! I swear, I thought I was looking at my work!" :) I know what you mean. There are people who copy styles, ideas and there are those who flat out copy or trace! So unfortunate!!!

  23. Okay, Krista, there is no inside joke with the Ding Dongs and bald babies:). Everything is out in the open. Bella did start the Ding Dong recently but the bald babies have been there for a long time. Oh yes, Bella and I started that with a painting I did last year because we were both baldies. However, Andrew, Mita, Steve, Manon and everybody else, they just pick it up through the comments. Obviously we are having so much fun in the comments section. It ought to be criminal. Try getting arrested with us. Yes, arrested growth. Hahahaha! - Grown ups having more fun than kids do. Have a beautiful weekend! TSUP!!!

  24. Manon! It's okay. I want you to enjoy the the sun, but when you are back, I want to see you. I miss you! Tsup!

  25. Tera, I totally understand! I will be after the Ding Dongs too. Oh I also like that other snack - Twinkie!

  26. Linda darling! Of course! I know you were kissed by an elephant when you were a baby! TSUP!

  27. didnt know you're awake.

not copy like really really "copy", it's just like...i dunno, my ideas, sometimes, the way i do with MY MESSAGES (you know, my blablabla messages...)

i dunno, maybe it's just me.

    forget it.

    sorry to bother you...

    see you, gudmorning.

  28. Honey, you are a trend setter. I know what you mean. Sometimes I go around the blogs and I notice that someone starts posting the way you do in poetry form with the same message tone. Is it because you are enviable? I think some people want to have the kind of audience you command but it is difficult to sustain something if it is not that person's genuine style. However, having said that, we really do not own words.

No one can ever emulate you. There is only one Lakhsmita Indira and someone who wants to be like you would look and sound funny. Consider it a great compliment.

What can I say? You are beautiful and are truly gifted. What could be cause for envy is the fact tat you do it without effort! It's just your nature and your genius and it cannot be stopped or masked.

I know how you feel though. It would make me upset.

Sometimes I see other people's work, people I know and I say to myself, hey I did that last year or last month or last week. I just smile. Now there are instances where I outright copy the artist's work on my work. When I draw or paint someone's portrait, I incorporate their art in my drawings and paintings, like the time I illustrated you and Arija and always, Bella. When I draw or paint Bella, I incorporate her art. I am not copying, I am making a tribute, but I do follow up on Bella's ideas like the Ding Dongs for example because we talked about it.

Just keep on doing what you do best - being yourself!!!

  29. Amalia!!! I am so glad to see you. I hope things are well. I know what you mean. I think in some circles, it is indeed a turtle, just makes sure it is not a snapping turtle! YIKES! In some circles, it is a pig!!! Heheheh!

  31. The header at this moment--Only God and Ces can make a tree"!--are really nice. I feel like I'm in the land of Ozzie--or is that OZ? Hey I AM in the land of Ooze, I mean OZ!

If Sweeta-Mita-Pie (she IS a sweetie Pie, right?) reads this she will know it's not I who am copying her stuff.

OKAY, who is the plagiarist thief-type? I want NAMES____ DATES_____URLS_____ PHOTOS_____
    FORMER ARREST DATES____________

Now we got THAT solved! I've gotta get me a violin gig, so I can buy a frame for my new TSUP'n
Pachyderm (I LOVE it!). Can't wait to put it between my nuts, and send y'all a picture of THAT!
    OKAY, I meant Acorns..dammmit!
Actually, I hope no one is up to read this drivel...
    LOVE! PEACE!

  35. I was over there trying to comment on Sweetie-Mita-Pie, and here YOU are back--thought sure you'd be asleep by now. How late must I stay up to MISS you Ces?

This is my favorite time of the day-night, because it's too late NOW to change anything. Well, until tomorrow, that is. God will take care of it while I sleep!

Are you finished being sick. Friend of mine (drunk) worked for Post Office. His second week he was so hung-over he could not go in, He called saying his father had died (a lie!). Postmaster sent a huge floral arrangement to the funeral home...but there was no corpse. Fred lost his job that very day. He is sober now, BTW!!!

Don't you hate these midnight 'stories'?
    TS**!

  37. I'll be off to bed, it is an hour LATER here, you know (sure you do--grin!), but I wonder if you'll leave that header up a while. It really IS attractive, you know. And I have grown to love yellow-type color, since knowing you and Manon (Boy I've GOT to drop her a line...)

Do you know, when I was a child age 8-10 I used to apologize to the grass for walking on it, thinking I might have given it pain. Now, nearly 70 years after, I'm wondering if that kid of long ago might have been RIGHT!.

Gotta quit these Buddha classes-grin! GOOD NIGHT, CES!

  40. I would love to be kissed by an elephant, do you think one would even if I still have some hair left???

What on earth are these feted Ding Dongs? What do they taste like??? I guess I was too shy to show my total ignorance and ask Bella.

Here my sweet life it is very hot and depressing but I manage. My daughter insisted I eat chocolate to keep up my endorphin levels. It is too hot to eat chocolate but I can manage a bit of choc-peppermint crunch.

TSUP, that's the way the cookies crumble . . .
