Aaaaaahhhhh! I wanted to draw real satellites like Dione, Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Rhea, Titan, Iapetus... do you know who they are or what they are? They are the moons of Saturn. Little known fact: Did you know that I once had a blog just focusing on the planet Saturn? Hahahaha! yes. I did.
I thought to myself, my sisters and I are satellites of our Mother. So I googled "sisters satellites." You know what? A group of sisters had the idea of creating something they shared together. There is a book called "Satellite Sisters' Uncommon Senses." The Satellites have identified the uncommon senses as: A Sense of Connection; A Sense of Self; A Sense of Humor; A Sense of Adventure; and A Sense of Direction. The book was written by the five Dolan sisters who also have three brothers.

My own version of Satellite Sisters. I re-did a couple of portraits.

L to R: The Eldest, The Third, The Fourth

L to R: The Fifth, The Seventh, The Youngest
Among my sisters, we had two parents; have two brothers, six children; a dozen dogs; one rabbit; presently, we live in two countries, two states, four provinces. The Viking is the only surviving husband. Three of us remained single. We all have professional careers and work outside the home. My sisters are literally planting roots in as many provinces and islands as they can. I also noticed that the three with the tear int heir eyes are the ones who got married. Hmnn...
I would like to add to the above list the following based on my experience:
A Sense of Belonging
A Sense of Pride
A Sense of Security
A Sense of Refuge
A Sense of Unity.
A Sense of Pride
A Sense of Security
A Sense of Refuge
A Sense of Unity.

I love that, Ces! The Satellite Sisters - you orbit the earth and our hearts! Aren't we lucky to have and to be sisters?!? TSUP!! Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post, Ces. You have two brothers? Do I only see one in the paintings? I liked the comment about the tears too...I wonder as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have A SENSE OF GRATEFULNESS for the chance in getting to know you and your family.
ReplyDeleteYou, too, should write a book one day, Ces. With your writing talent, it would be a BEST SELLER in no time!

Hi Ces, how are you?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great concept... the satellite sisters, orbiting around their mother. Loved that! :)
Beautiful art in your blog as always, you've got me wanting to see more more more!
Portugal says hi! :D
Oh yes, I believe it! Only Ces could have a blog about only Saturn!!! I am sisterless, but not Cesless. Thank you for adopting me. **blows kisses** Deb
ReplyDeleteYou blow my mind, it is laying all over the floor and the walls are disgusting.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!
Love and hugs sweet one.
Yes, you are all heavenly and celestial and simply out of this world.
ReplyDeleteBut you are NOT
definitely not
space cadets.
Ewwwww, what did you do to Marie's brainz?
ReplyDeleteHey Ces! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comments! Very cool idea! that is so neat that you googled Satellite sisters and someone had a similar idea! You arte such a terrific writer. I always enjoy stopping by. I bet your Saturn blog was out of this world too!
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you very much for for your wonderful comments! Yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteOOOH Honey Bunny how fabulous are these Satellite Sisters!! I love each and everyone of them. They are soooooo beautiful! I love the details in all of the pictures. You are so awesome with color and space. I agree with Audrey you should write a book or at least do a coffee table book or something. It would sell out before you could get them into the store he he he! Hey thanks so much for your comforting words. It's been rough the past couple of days. I still can't believe he is gone. His 80 dad has lost the baby boy not more than a few years ago and now he is burying another son. It's so hard when a parent has to bury their child. There is nothing in the world like it. It defies all nature and balance. Clarence was killed in a car accident this past Sunday morning. We don't really know what happened really. Just that I got the phone call saying that he was gone. I am holding up pretty good right now, but when I get to the services all bets are off. I still can't believe. Please keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. WE really need them right about now. I love you soosooooo much! You had better know that I do. I love you so much.

Bisous

Tsup*!* The orbiting Satellite Sisters, sounds like a star billing ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, Ces, I feel stupid! LOL I thought maybe the shorter hair lent itself to that being one of the bros. I need to slow down during my blog reading! I think you are more than lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Ces! I think it is so cool you had a blog devoted to Saturn. That is very ces-like. :) I wish I had a gaggle of sisters, too. I will count my blessing that I have a small flock of children. ;) xo Pam
