Black Nuts On Brown Paper



Used some of my paper collection. This one on sepia drawing paper. ATC-sized at 2.5"x3.5". It has texture and I drew these acorns ever so slowly. I am pleased with the outcome. I framed them on a 16"x20"ATC collage mat last night. Haven't decided what to do with them yet.


Nothing much going on here except I am pretty exhausted from work and being on-call. The latter is always an anxiety-filled day. I think my brain shut down and I am still recuperating from multitasking too much the other day. I was on a conference call when a couple of analysts instant-messaged me about two separate issues as I was talking to a nurse on my cell phone as I worked on a service request. Finally I just decided to leave the conference call and told everyone to wait while I finished one thing at a time.

Then in the evening I continued getting paged, my family ate leftovers and by 8:54 PM I got paged when...

Who cares?

I am going through my Inbox. So I won't post a new drawing until I have cleaned it up. There are 153...

I am tired. I panic-draw as a reaction. In two days I drew four portraits, a sprouting acorn series, decorated a mailing envelope with tree drawing... Oh! I have been blogging for five years. Just now started using Google Reader so I am reading everyone and I will surprise you with a binge-comment visit. HAHAHAHA!

I am on call on Friday. Gotta get ready for work...

I love the portrait of your daughter as well. She is beautiful just like her mama! How awesome. You are on such a roll right now.     Ces, I love your nuts on brown paper! I sat here comparing them to mine. Nut heaven I tell ya! I think Bella is correct...an entire little Who world living in there.

    Do post was Mita sent!!! We all want to see. It is so beautiful to see the gathering and bonding of such amazingly talented artists. Wait. What am I doing here? I can't even draw a straight line, but I CAN do magic with a hot glue gun!

  11. Oh, you sound like you are stretched way too thin. If I lived close, I'd bring you a piece of blueberry tart and we'd have a good kaffeeklatsch (no scary baby birds invited)! When I still worked as a fundraiser, June was the end of our fiscal year and our busiest time. So, I feel for you!! TSUP!! Silke

  20. Ces, I can sense the whirlwinds going on in your life and I am left breathless!! I hope things settle down a bit and soon! Today is only Thursday, so not sure if you are on-call today too or not again until tomorrow. One breath at a time, one step at a time.     Wallflower, I know why you feel that way, I mean, we just met so what the heck am I saying when I give you a nut, right? Yes, I am serious. You said you love receiving letters. Fair enough. I really don't know what to write to you yet, so I will just offer you an acorn. Since real acorns may not do well in Canada because ours here are live oak, post oak and Schumard oak. They like temperate or warmer climes. So I will just send you an ATC-sized acorn drawing. That way you get to open an envelope and you are not obliged to reply. Okay?

  26. CES! My beautiful nut, you..this is gorgeous. I am SO proud to be the recipient of that amazing mailer and gorgeous illustration...I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I love the decorations as well..you are immensely talented. I can only imagine what amazing gifts the dear Witch has sent. I'm sure it's glorious as is her spirit.   27. Well now that I am back in the real world with internet access (she says with a hint of sarcasm in her voice! AHEM!) ♥LUV♥ the brown paper. I should send you all of my pastel papers I never use anymore. They are rather nice.....I should get them out....but there is NO WHERE to lay them. ACK.
