Holy Week

I am on call tomorrow. I always find that very stressful. I hope it will be a quiet call. I have so many things to do at work. It is very stressful but I learn to cope. Today I was painting. I am almost done with the painting. I am using brushes instead of palette knives. When I was painting, I became very dizzy. I had to call my daughter to help me to the sofa. I was afraid I might fall. The room was spinning. I thought I might have been hungry but I have eaten. I know I ate something. I rested for a while and then the dizziness went away. I think it was due to exposure to chemicals. The painting requires delicate brush work that my face is almost on top of the canvas. I am using very fine tip rounds, brights and flourish brushes. So perhaps I may have inhaled the chemicals.

My painting partner (she sleeps at my feet when I am painting):

The moon is not oval or egg shaped. It is round. It is the angle at which I took the photograph because the oil paints are wet and I had to avoid the reflection of the light.

Is this the same painting? It looks so different...the lighting moved and her face is softer. It's beautiful Ces. And you hair is so cute! You and your painting buddy. Milo should be there soon. I think he was mailed on Friday. I want a bit of Ces paint on Milo. Sleep well. Holy week. Not an easy week for our Lord either. **blows kisses** Deb

UGHHH, sounds like you had a long day like me - I'm just about to post your generous award Ces, and wanted to say thank you again, it means a lot to me! I also hope you're feeling better, hope you don't have a temporary middle-ear thing going on and you got some fresh air to clear out those chemicals...ain't those canine painting buddies the best! Here's a link to an older post from last year with a photo of my studio with my creative buddy Cosmo - touch job eh? It's great when I'm drawing him, perfect reference!

I'll probably do another post about this sometime now that I actually have some real followers - it's tough in the beginning stages of blogging, you can almost hear the crickets chirping!

Thanks again and stay well! Susan

Oh dear Ces. How utterly beautiful. Such serenity. And I love the red lips. And the woman in your painting is beautiful as well.

Tsup!

The painting is wonderful, Ces but take care of those poisonous paint fumes and thanks again for my wonderful Renee award. I hope your on call day doesn't prove too full of calls.

Oh Ces, watch smelling the chemicals for too long---they will knock you for a loop! I always painted in a very open space and used odorless products. (not that they are really without odor, but better than turpentine)
Hope your week goes well....and bless you for the award!
Love the painting.....you are a paint tube ninja too!!!

XXOO!!
Anne

Dearest Ces, your painting is stunning - I can just get lost in the mood of it! Careful with those fumes. Did Daisy get dizzy as well? Love those photos of you and her - such pure love!!! Hope your on call day will go smoothly! TSUP!! Love, Silke

Ces - I love this painting. It's almost like she is dreaming the moon and the trees. :) Maybe you need a fan next to you when you paint, otherwise your paintings are going to have an interesting new element: your face. I am the same way, I get my face down into things. I have to get new glasses because I can't see close up like I used to! :) Those pictures of you and Daisy are just so sweet. I can't decide who is cuter! As for me and inspiration, I've been thinking about it, and I have to say - it's looking at other art. So thank you for inspiring me! xox Pam

Oh my goodness, Ces... I hope you have cleared your being from those chemicals! Thank goodness for family and painting companion!! Do take good care this week (hope it's quiet) and remember to take time to smell the croissant and jelly now and then. Much better than terribly smelly oils...or was it the turpentine. Are you using turp? I painted in oils many moons ago, in my bedroom, and basically almost took out my whole family. So I swore to paint only with water-based paints...(bawk, bawk, I am an oil painting chicken). Your piece, I just can't wait to see the finished piece but you do take time, please, ok?

So glad your dizzy spell left you ~ that is an awful feeling.
I hope your day is not too stressful. I will think good thoughts for you today.
The photos of you and your painting pal are so sweet.
Blessings to you during this Holy Week!

I am fine, thank you everyone. I think it was the low odor mineral spirits because I have to clean the brush every time I touch the paint Working with two contrasting colors, white and black, requires a clean brush with each application. I was also applying lipstick on the woman so you know that requires precision and up close encounter with a flourish round. HAHAHAHAHAHA! I am fine. I don't use turpentine inside my house. The smell of linseed oil is enough to give me a headache. Soon, I will be painting outside anyway. Have a great day.

To all of you who posted about your awards: Audrey, Anne, Janice, I have read your posts and will comment soon. Thank you so much for all your kind words. OMG! I am so overwhelmed by the generosity of your praises. I am blushing.

Today, I feel like dancing to Lou Rawls "You'll never find Another Love Like Mine". Darn, that song makes me dance. I am listening to it right now and I can't stop shaking on my chair. Or maybe I am having a petit mal seizure?

At any rate, thank you but please remember, the award is about you because I think that much of you for so many good reasons!!! TSUP!!!

Ces, your visit to my little blog and the fact that you took the time to leave me a comment has touched my heart more than I can say. That you have bestowed on me the Renee award has completely bowled me over, to be considered in such great company with so many amazing people is more than I ever dreamed of. Thank you seems so inadequate, I shall try to live up to the honor and your belief in my capabilities. I love your latest painting but you must be ever so careful of the fumes. We wouldn't want anything to happen to you or your painting companion :) (the pictures are adorable by the way!)

Ces, I've tried to thank you for your wonderful Renee blog award, both here in these comments and in the comments section of my blog. I don't want you to think I'm ungrateful. I will write about it in my next post but I usually post only once a week. More than that I find overwhelming. Still again I want to say thank you. I am honoured by your inclusion of my blog as worthy of association with Renee.
